Is a road ranger HC licence required?

We teach both unrestricted (road ranger) and automatic/synchromesh licences. If you have an unrestricted licence, you can drive trucks with a road ranger gearbox. The most important thing to realise is that driving a road ranger is extremely challenging. It's not like driving a manual car, and if you don't practise, you'll lose your skills quickly. We advise you to obtain an unrestricted licence only if you already have a job that requires it. The vast majority of jobs will only necessitate an automatic licence. If you decide you need an unrestricted licence, be prepared to put in a lot of time and effort to learn.
